about project

The hero embarks on a journey, traversing the wild corners of Karelia on a new Can-Am Commander XT 1000R ATV and with each new turn, he recalls adventures with his father. Ten years ago they rafted together, drove through forests and built a wooden bridge. Back then family trips seemed boring but the importance of such moments becomes apparent only over time. Now fording streams and racing through endless picturesque landscapes, the hero rushes off-road to his beloved to share his childhood memories.

Tasks
Increase BRP brand recognition among potential buyers in Russia.
Approach to production
The expedition to Karelia involved using gameplay equipment and filming details in the Lenfilm studio to immerse viewers in the story.
IMPLEMENTATION
The creative team studies the 169-page Can-Am brand book, the unique selling proposition, and the features of the new Can-Am Commander XT 1000R model. Drawing inspiration from references and leveraging their 10 years of experience in shooting various recreational vehicles, they create a mood board, write a director’s synopsis, develop a cinematic piece set to music composed by our in-house composer, and propose a logline that captures the essence of the story. One of the tasks during the preparation phase is to find an older Commander model, but thanks to connections within the recreational vehicle community, the team quickly accomplishes this. The filming process is divided into two stages. First, the team works in expedition conditions in the scenic locations of Karelia, where they build a bridge and shoot key scenes with actors. Then, they move to the Lenfilm studio to film details: pressing the gas pedal, water splashes, speedometer numbers, and chainsaw teeth movements. In dynamic quad bike riding scenes, a professional rider replaces the actor behind the wheel. We are the first in the world to mount an Arri Alexa Mini with an Atlas 65 mm anamorphic lens on an ATV to film the vehicle in action.
Direct speech

«Thank you very much to the client for the trust and to our talented team for their dedication and hard work on the project. We camped on a peninsula, traveled with actors across Ladoga in boats, navigated off-road on ATVs, creatively solved complex technical challenges, and hardly slept... And then I look at the playback, and 'the stars aligned': in the central scene at golden hour, the main characters are paddling on kayaks across the lake. It’s a moment of true happiness. I am proud of the people around me, without whom this wouldn’t have been possible», — Aleksandr Kuzmichev, director.
