Flankers in the City: Break the internet

Everything is filmed without rehearsals and in three takes. We manage to showcase high-speed tandem drifting in the city from unexpected angles and with a dynamic that hasn’t been seen before in action videos. We combine elements of documentary, staged, and artistic filming, using almost no graphics: the shot of flames shooting out of the exhaust pipe is real. One of our favorite tools is the FPV drone. The shot of the boat passing under the bridge is a gift from our beloved city. We film interior details using a robotic arm at the Lenfilm studio. Special attention is given to sound design to make the audience feel as if they are sitting in a race car. To achieve this, we create a soundscape and record the natural sounds of the city, as well as multichannel recordings of both race cars at the track during a track day. We reimagine the beginning of the story with Kabargin and reshoot it the following year, framing the race in an artistic context. We consciously take these risks, delaying the release, knowing that our product is timeless and that no one has done anything like this before.
